Suzumiya Haruhi Second Season Airs with Rerun

TV stations have now not only confirmed that the “new” season of Haruhi will start with a rerun, but also that it will amount to 28 episodes, finally confirming the “new episodes mixed in with or ont the end of the old episodes” theory.

Fans rejoice at the news, although they must by now be wary of unpleasant surprises…

As usual Haruhi-based news arrives in spurts: first, we heard that the title of the first episode aired would be the same as that from the original broadcast.

Now we hear that unofficial confirmation (it seems possible Kadokawa has ordered stations to hold back details) from TV stations, Saitama TV and Chiba TV, suggests the show will air in two “cours”, or seasons, and constitute 28 episodes, being treated as a “new” programme.

With the original coming in at 14 episodes, the only logical conclusion (not that logic has much place in Haruhi marketing) is that the additional 14 episodes will be the newly produced second season, and will either follow directly on from the broadcast, or be interspersed with the old episodes.

As you may noticed in the past days. We had a slight downtime on our portal/main page(the forum was and is still working perfectly). This due because our crappy host messed up our wordpress installation and I had to delete the complete database and install clean wordpress again. I imported everything I could, which was until May of this year.

Meaning we lost around 20 posts =\
Im deeply sorry specially to our authors who did such amazing reviews in the past month. To all of you our loyal users and visitors and everyone else out there.

TOKYO (Reuters) – Japan is to fingerprint and photograph foreigners entering the country from next month in an anti-terrorism policy that is stirring anger among foreign residents and human rights activists.
Anyone considered to be a terrorist — or refusing to cooperate — will be denied entry and deported.

“Making only foreigners provide this data is discriminatory,” said Sonoko Kawakami of Amnesty’s Japan office. “They are saying ‘terrorist equals foreigner’. It’s an exclusionary policy that could encourage xenophobia.”

Well, I shouldn’t say I didn’t expected this, since I made a paper on xenophobia for college this past summer and well…
Japan is one of the countries with more xenophobia cases in the world. They are very patriotic, and even though there’s a lot of good Japanese people around, well, some of them tend to make some harsh decisions. I mean this fingerprinting movement eeeh, if you ask me is quite over the line. I mean I know there is a difference between the message and how people interpret it but heck, this one is quite direct. I dont think a lot of people will be happy with this, and yes is quite a hit for the foreigners who live and want to go or are visiting Japan and a big hit to liberty overall.

I just hope this doesnt get any worse. Im not writting this for those interested in Japan to start hating it, I just think is a very good piece of information and it should be analyzed.
