I Just finished episode 26, which is the last episode of the 1st season in new challenger.
Or probably the last episode of new challenger.
It was a great episode, it was soo good seeing Ippo back in the challenger seat instead of just the dull defending position.
The series ends with an extremely good episode. We see ippo completely focused in miyata and developing as a better boxer. Trying to overcome the weakness of the Dempsey roll.
Aoki will have his first title shot ever.
Itagaki will go for the rookie championship.
Takamura will have his first world tittle match defense.
And finally Miyata the OPBF champion waiting for Ippo.
Rikiya Koyama, the voice actor of the Mamoru Takamura character in the Hajime no Ippo boxing anime franchise, has revealed in his blog on Friday that a sequel to the ongoing Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger television series is being planned. Koyama was posting about the end of dialogue recording for the series, since the cast just finished work on the 26th and final episode. (The final episode, “New Challenger,” will air in Japan on June 30.) At the end of his Friday blog entry, he wrote, “Of course, a sequel is also being planned!!”(Source)
We can expect the third part of the Fighting Spirit anime series to begin with a bang!
Well, new challenger began with quite the action.
Lots of goodness ahead in the Ippo world.
This is one of my top fav anime series of all time. I will surely buy all this on dvd/blu ray when I have the opportunity.

I wouldn’t say that the anime is one of the best I have seen but the boxing concept was a good choice to utilize all the usual anime cliches in a way that does not look too forced like in the majority of the anime series. But we have seen this same story unfold so many times… Including the love interest and everything.
You just have to get used to it when you watch anime(the cliché). But still pretty enjoyable! =)

Maybe Ippo ain’t the best anime, but I don’t know of any sport-anime, that is this great.
Hajime no Ippo is atleast my favorite anime show. Many series above 26 episodes gets boring. But Ippo is awesome all the way!!^______^

The series was great. Esp the animation. Every episode is like watching a movie quality anime. I wonder when will the next season be released? Can’t wait for it. If anyone has info about next season’s release please inform.. it’ll be sad if the season ends here.. Let’s just hope there’s more to come! Nice work Hajime no ippo staff! Please keep it up.

The next season is 100% confirmed for next year. When? Who knows. But by experience and what the anime says @ the end, I would say it comes out early 2010. January – april. But that’s my opinion as Hajime No Ippo fan. As I get more news on this I will be sure to post em.

oh yeah! i watched the anime like 5 times over already from ep 1 of the 1st season to ep 26 of new challenger, including the OVAs! im a complete hardcore diehard fanatic. yeah! more power to anime. and hope the new season comes out soon!

I am too anxious for more news about the new season! Hopefully around December they will announce something as my guess is that the anime will air in spring (the anime last ep states something about ippo and spring).

Well, in my honest opinion, for me Ippo is like the best Anime i have ever watched!! when it comes to Action/Comedy/Drama, and yes i have watched over 500 Animes, it even motivated me to get athletic and lose every single fat in my body -_-”! again i am so looking forward to watch season three so please gief gief!

i hope ippo will grow to be the perfect boxer out there. he got his signature from tyson, floyd patterson and jack dempsey. i hope next time speedy foot works to allure his opponents movements same as speedy jabs like muhammad ali. especially i hope he would grow as pacman or cotto being southpaw just to confuse his opponent. damn there’s a lot of good stuff that could happen to ippo. i guess this would be like baki the grappler. baki didn’t reach at the top of his game when he was 16 but he did when he was like 10 years after he was 26 yrs old. i hope they make an evolution of each characters growing up. can’t wait for season 3

Me to. I love this show, awesome quality and story plot. The main character is awesome to. I myself practices a lot of boxing, this is inspiring for new moves and tricks. Can’t wait for the thrid season, I think it will be called ‘The Fighter’, looked on Wikipedia.

Man. I’m obsessed! can’t get this anime out of my head. I just finished the first 76 episode and the movie: Champion Road. I don’t wanna finish the episode just yet so I’m hanging around waiting for the new episodes to come. I only started on the New Challenger episode and so far. I’m still wanting more of Ippo!

man i love this series, to be honest i was a huge critic and hated anime, manga , all of it. but i have always been a fan of boxing and ufc etc, and my cousin was watching some anime and at first i mocked him for it, sometime later ive finished the entire season 1 and went on youtube to finish season 2. hahaha. i regret everything ive said about anime, i love ippo! can’t wait for season 3 right guys?!?!

Hey, for all you Ippo fans out there, I believe at the very least, the Shimabukuro fight, expected to come in movie form. At Otakon 2009 it was reported that the director of the first Ippo series(the one with way better music, in my opinion), is working on another movie. I am not sure of any other information regarding fights past, but at the very least we have another great fight ahead of us, and for any of those who read the manga, it’s certainly exciting.

Ippo may not be the best anime ever… but, it is up there especially in the sports animes, another good one in prince of tennis which I would like to see more of. I hope the third season of Ippo comes out soon, and I would also like to see the fully perfected Demnsey Roll, but I would also like to see him come out with a new weapon or two.

I would also like to see more development between Ippo and i believe its kazumi-chan, they obviously like each other kazumi-chan has hinted towards a future with him more than once, and she’s even prepared for when he fights, so I would like to see them touch base here, and ippo to challenge the world before that mexican boxer retires, it would be the ultimate pick up for Date who passed the baton to Ippo. Also I believe its time for Ippo’s power level to be increased via weights like his rival did to catch him, so there are alot of things that this next season could include I am eagerly awaiting it, hopefully this year.

I sincerely hope so as well. I actually caught ippo when it was first being released because of having a huge interest in boxing. Gotta say, when new challenger came out i nearly crapped myself…but at the same time, they really should get on with putting out the 3rd season. The manga has a ridiculous amount of rounds already drawn…is animation THAT costly? If you ppl havent checked out the manga, check out the David Eagle fight…GREAT fight. But dont spoil it if you havent read the rest of the manga

Lool i see lots of good ideas for ippo upgrade…But it seems that you guys don’t read the manga…there ippo will continue challenging the world, but will have a really hard battle against Wolly, a boy that only had 3 fights until fighing ippo,but the guy is like a monkey,or better saying like tarzan, the match is still going on so i can’t say if ippo wins it or not, but if he does it’s a hell of a comeback K.O,the biggest one till now

I think the reason is just because they put them out faster not really about the size of the manga and also has to do with preparation. I myself have been waiting awhile for this I hope it comes in lik a month or so but I doubt it. I don’t know but one good way to tell when it comes around is to look at the other previous seasons and see around what month or time did they come out. Then it may be close to around those times. I would hate for it to end because then ill be mad like i was with EyeShield 21 and jushin enbu(something like that forgot how to spell it) and kenichi strongest disciple.

I have been watchin alot of action anime over the past few years and alot of them just dont seem real or even possible. I like the fact that Hajime No Ippo takes actual boxing moves, training practices, and life styles in to play when creating this anime and are still able to keep our attention in the process. The comedy aspect is a bonus.

Well in the manga its awesome, in the last round too so i know its going to be good. That thing that the other trainer mentioned about a boxer who never gave up in the past just makes it oh so much more exciting, its like ippo is going for a big show down. I dont mind waiting a few months as the manga is still going on right now but years is just taking the P***. By then i’d probably forgotten about hajime no ippo… =/

Hey, all. Don’t give up hope on this, yet. It’s hard to believe, but they worked on New Challenger for about 6 months, and for all that time they never missed a beat or fed us any crappy filler eps with the lame third-string animators like they do with Bleach. Honestly, I don’t know how shows like Naruto or Bleach could even hope to be compared to the mind-blowing quality of this show. The artists were fighting just as hard as any of the boxers they drew, blow for blow. I’d want to sit back and rest too, after such an endeavor.
Anyway, it’s going to be worth every second we had to wait, when it finally comes out. Just keep hitting the sandbag guys, whether you’re actual boxers or just drooling fanboys like myself.

I hope hajime no ippo season 3 will be aired soon, i’m a big fan of da anime series., and i hope ippo will become a world champion., i will also love if he will add something on his arsenal of signature punches, maybe ceferino garcia’s “bolo punch” or pacman’s “the destroyer” w/c is double jab + ducking over extended killer left straight.. i dunno about that so called new weapon punch for ippo.. i think animators are having a hard time catching up to the manga adapting to that new weapon if ever. coz in the manga there is no NEW weapon or whatsoever for ippo.. i also think thats why up to now they didnt release its new season bcoz of that. xD

I’m not sure if you all know about this already or not, but when i looked for new information on ippo. On another forum i found out from someone that Mad Dog the makers of the anime are busy on other products at the moment such as Iron Man (Anime) and Wolverine (anime). Perhaps it’ll be a longer wait than we can possible expect for the Hajime no ipoo anime to continue next season.

Ippo will stay my favorite anime and I hope they will be releasing more soon! I’ve been waiting quite a while and can’t get a thrill from the manga… I also hope the new series will have about 50 or more episodes. I’ll watch it all, and re-watch. Best anime ever!

I want some fresh news about the new season about which fights are gonna be in it in the new season, how many episodes they are gonna make. Really Hajime no Ippo is just to great. I’ve started to rewatch the old episodes, they are great but still I need some new material. The Arc of Kamagowa and Nekota, the fight with saruwara or something like that, the Eagle fight those are the fights I’m waiting for or yeah even more fights if they can put it in.
Anyhow I’ll pray for a miracle for the new season, 79 episodes + a movie someone answer my prayers pls :p

I had an experienced translator whom i’ve known for 2 years now, (Yamada Sazuki) which has gone through a Japanese interview with Koyama Rikiya on a business trip. I can’t prove this via website because it was a personal interview, which happened on 17th April 2010 in the Haiyuza Theatre Company. Any more questions feel free to ask.

slamdunk is also a very good well thought out sports anime and also eye sheild 21 (you gotta watch in subs because only eva did 10 dubbbed episodes for the nfl lol ) but ippo is an extreemly addictive anime cant get around that

Eyeshield 21 is good, I didn’t really like slam dunk…But the bad thing about Eyeshield is that it ended out close to the end and the only way to find out if they won is by reading the book. That pissed me off. If you are going to stay doing anime then do it and also do the manga, don’t do part of it and then switch. But anyway back to Ippo, I want him to confess his love to the girl because he hasn’t yet.

i think they can’t make the season 3 because of the censored scene of ippo and aoki in their weighing NAKED!! and some manga got censored portion.. though it should be great seasons.. hope they can revise for the animated series..

Great anime. One of the few or 1st boxing anime I have ever seen. Hopefully they release the manga soon on the tv screen Hajime no Ippo keep it going.

Looks like everybody is looking forward to the new season, but there’s nothing new about the airing time..

Yes everybody ippo meister said it’s an unofficial source but a friend of his talked to or read an article about one of the characters and he said in japanese to expect another sequel to come out. Then later on Ippo Meister came back out and said that it would be around october. Nobody knows for sure so we just have to wait for it.
